You do not need to have a pre-mixed recipe that absolutely requires stabilizers and preservatives, when you can mix your own within seconds and keep it fresh.⠀
⠀
Another reason, we do not mix our products, is because when you use one ingredient at a time, you know if you have a reaction to this one ingredient (unlikely, but still, fruit and vegetable seed oils can create a reaction).⠀
⠀
So it is easy to eliminate one ingredient out of your beauty routine, than guess what ingredient out of dozens your skin might not be too keen on having. And again, mixing various oils that separately have amazing benefits, together, in a mixture, might not be as wonderful, as pH changes and it is all about chemistry of things. How many recipes are actually tested to figure out how ingredients interact with each other when they are mixed and stored together? ⠀
⠀
I do not know about other countries, but it is so expensive to do in the US and I am pretty sure that small companies cannot afford to test their formulations. Big companies have an even bigger issue – they have scale, so they need their products to be shelf stable for months or years, which requires stabilizers and preservatives. So the active ingredients are diluted and you are applying chemicals to your skin that are less than beneficial for you.⠀
⠀
Bottom line, less is more. When in doubt do less or do nothing. It will do you more good than doing more. ⠀
