Typing this through a panic attack, but it’s ok. People want to know if you have loose skin after weight loss surgery. Well, here ya go! It’s there, it’s alllllllll there 🤣 Tomorrow is the big day. Dr. Lynch @plasticsurgeonsoflexington is going to help me take one of the final steps in my weight loss journey.
Before I thought I would just be happy to have the weight gone. And now that it’s gone, I want the skin removed. And some people want to know why, or may think it’s vain, or a waste of money or whatever they think. My reason is this: this body no longer represents who I am. It no longer serves me like this. It’s carried 3 babies (2 to term) and it’s been put through the ringer of my emotional eating habits, it’s battled with borderline alcoholism in my early 20s, it’s taken the blame for all my insecurities, it’s kept me off roller coasters and zip lines, it’s been my excuse and my reason for lots of things in my past. But it no longer holds any power over me and so to wear this around (I like to call it my skin suit), is like carrying around baggage from a life that no longer exists. So when I tell you that I cannot wait to wake up tomorrow, know that that is the greatest understatement of 2021! 🙌🏻😍🎊
I’ll try to post once more before surgery tomorrow and then as soon as I’m up to it. I realized after this, that I should have taken a picture pinching it all so you could really see how much is there. 🤣 stay tuned for updates!!!
