Dissolving lip fillers doesn’t have to be a scary process!
Lip filler truly enhances a patient’s entire facial appearance through changes to the lip shape and volume.
However, it can also be detrimental to the overall lip shape when injected incorrectly – or when it migrates to the perioral region. This can throw the entire lower face’s aesthetics out of alignment.
Overfilling often occurs when patients have had multiple rounds of filler and feel they have “lost their crisp border”. The instinct is to then inject more, trying to chase the lip shape they desire.
But the reason the crisp border and cupids bow has been blurred is because too much filler has been injected over time, resulting in filler migration – which means the filler it isn’t sitting where it should be.
Often, there is no more room for filler in the natural lip anatomy, prompting filler to migrate either up or down into tissue outside of the lip, causing the dreaded ‘duck bill’ appearance. Injecting more filler in this case will only hinder the lips.
The solution is to completely dissolve all filler and start again.

Nurse Britt is taking this patient on a new filler journey to ensure her lip shape and border remain intact, whilst giving her the volume and projection that she desires, to match her face shape.
